Fifth Grade Spanish Update - from Mrs. Krauss
The 5th Grade Spanish students have been learning about the Mexican and Central American cultural practice of "regatear" (bargaining) along with the vocabulary that accompanies it. Many students made their own products to sell including origami, handmade jewelry, beaded keychains, drawings, and paintings. Other students chose to bring souvenirs, used books, and small trinkets from home. On April 30, we had our mercado (market) and students bought and sold items by speaking in Spanish. They used their bargaining skills - and pretend pesos from Mexico! The students had a great time and now have a better understanding of how this cultural practice works.
