Lunchtime Nutrition Group Beings - 4th and 5th Grade - Sign Up Now

Dear Parents,

We want to let you know about a new opportunity for 4th and 5th-grade students at Mitchell Elementary. Our University of Michigan health center, the Regional Alliance for Healthy Schools (RAHS) in collaboration with Mitchell administration, will offer a fun lunchtime nutrition group called Healthy Bodies. To join, please complete a RAHS sign-up packet from Ms. Hudson in the Mitchell main office or from Ms. Christine Kleinheksel in the RAHS room.

During Healthy Bodies group, students will learn how bodies use food to grow and how children of all shapes and sizes can eat and play in a way that gives them energy and boosts self-esteem. Meetings are during lunch on Tuesdays in January and February and will be taught by our University of Michigan registered dietitian, Allison Mankowski, MPH, RD. There will be a free dinner celebration on March 8 at 5:30 PM for parents and families of group participants!

For more information about the Regional Alliance for Healthy Schools, call the Scarlett RAHS clinic at (734) 677-2708 or visit http://umhs-rahs.org/.

Happy New Year,
