Five Mitchell students recently competed in the Michigan Elementary State Chess Championships in Lansing, Michigan. We are proud to announce the Mitchell School team placed seventh at the event. It was the first time Mitchell School ever participated!

Thanks so very much to our chess club supporters: the Mitchell School PTO, the Huron High School Chess Club, third grade teacher Ms. Faison, physical education teacher Ms. Lindemann, and parent Mr. Allen Foulkes. I would like to particularly recognize and thank Huron High School students Atulya Shetty, Miira Shetty, Nir Glazer, and Franklin Bromberg for the exceptional leadership and guidance they have consistently offered in setting up the Mitchell chess program. We are already looking forward to next year!
