Reading Improvement – a message from Mr. Karr
As I've been looking over the reading scores for our students, I am noticing considerable improvement. This is excellent news! I am proud of the work that our students, teachers, and PARENTS! have done this year to help our students learn to be better readers.
Keep reading each night at home. Talk about the books you read with your child. Ask questions like "What was your favorite part of the story? Tell me about it."
Volunteers Needed For PTO Book Fair Selling - May 23 and 24
We are looking for a few volunteers to help sell books on May 23 & 24. It's fun, easy and it will make you feel good. The proceeds from this book fair will help purchase new books for Mitchell's Media Center.
If you can help for just an hour or two please sign up on the PTO Bulletin Board across from the office. We are also seeking volunteers to help set up the book fair on Friday, May 18 from 4-6 pm.

Como he estado mirando por encima de las puntuaciones de lectura para nuestros estudiantes, estoy notando una mejora considerable. Esta es una excelente noticia! Estoy orgulloso del trabajo que nuestros estudiantes, maestros, y padres! hemos hecho este año para ayudar a nuestros estudiantes aprender a ser mejores lectores.
Sigue leyendo cada noche en su casa. Hable acerca de los libros que lee con su hijo. Haga preguntas como "¿Cuál fue tu parte favorita de la historia? Háblame de eso. "
Se necesitan voluntarios para venta de libros PTO Feria - 23 de mayo y 24 de

International Potluck Success / El éxito internacional de Potluck
The PTO
sponsored an international potluck dinner this past week, and it was a very
nice event! Of course the food was
good, but the conversations and sharing was even better. Several of us in attendance agreed that
this event should be one of the biggest events of the year. Our goal next year was set with the
hopes of 200 people attending the potluck!
