Please plan to arrive at 11:10 to pick up your child. Additionally, year-end report cards will be sent home electronically on this day. Please make sure to look over the report card with your child and celebrate the growth they've made as learners!

Enrollment for Fall - Registration and In-Person or Virtual Selection

AAPS is preparing for the 2021-22 school year and will begin sending out information on PowerSchool Enrollment (formerly called InfoSnap). In the coming week, you will receive a communication via email from noreplyregistration@powerschool.com with instructions on how to access the system for your student. The email will contain a secure "snapcode" link and instructions that connect you directly to your student's information. If you have already set up a PowerSchool Enrollment/InfoSnap account in a prior year, you will be able to reuse that account, along with this year's unique "snapcode" link, to begin the registration.

This email will also include the opportunity to make your choice of in-person or virtual instruction in the fall.

As a reminder, all students entering young fives, kindergarten, seventh grade or new to the district will also need to present up-to-date immunization records to their school prior to the first day of school.

HuronHigh School Personal Project

Dear AAPS Families, Community Members and Colleagues,

You are cordially invited to view the Huron International Baccalaureate

Personal Project Exhibition Website! Here is the link to the website: https://sites.google.com/aaps.k12.mi.us/20-21personalprojectexhibition/home

The Personal Project is the culminating event of the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and showcases individual learning. It focuses on a topic chosen by the student and challenges students to demonstrate their learning capabilities through an extended project.

Success with the Personal Project is connected to skills every successful student needs:

- Goal Setting, planning, and problem solving

- Developing skills and attitudes needed for sustained and focused work

- Taking action to implement their plan

- Effectively communicating personal and academic learning

- Reflecting on learning and goal achievement.

Students started working on their project in October of 2020 and completed them, along with a written report, at the end of March in 2021. Students moved through the four phases of the Personal Project curriculum: investigation, planning, taking action, and reflection as they worked on their projects. While we traditionally hold an in-person exhibition to celebrate this accomplishment, we hope this year's virtual exhibition will be able to give you a sense of what some of our students were able to accomplish in this unprecedented year. We hope you enjoy exploring a sample of the different projects that our students created this year.

Sincerely,

The 2020-2021 Huron Personal Project Team

ImportantInformation for Parents

We are grateful to parents for following the Super Six protocols to protect their student's and school's health. With numerous cases in the district and community, please take care to do the following.

  • Pre-screen your child daily using the district questionnaire
  • Keep all students home if anyone in the household shows symptoms or tests (+)
  • Let your principal know ASAP if there's a case in your household or student and answer the call from a school nurse
  • Understand that despite all efforts at physical distancing, your student may need to quarantine based on a classroom case. WCHD determines details of any quarantine needed.
  • Contact your school nurse with questions - bit.ly/NurseCareCorner
