Mitchell Talent Show Update

Talent Show this Friday!  Mark your calendars for a fun night of singing, dancing and family skits!  Doors open at 6pm.  Show starts at 6:30!

 

Concessions will be sold before the show and during the intermission: Pizza, Water, Gatorade, Bake Sale Items.

We will also be selling flowers, and offering "Red Carpet" pictures of performers for $2 each.

IB Community Information Meeting - June 2 @ 6:30

International Baccalaureate schooling is coming to Ann Arbor!

Those interested in learning more about enrolling in the Ann Arbor International Baccalaureate (IB) candidate schools for the fall of 2016 are invited to an IB Community Information Meeting at Mitchell School on Thursday, June 2 from 6:30 – 7:30 PM. 

This presentation will include information and experiences that help participants know and understand:

- The 5 Pillars of IB in Ann Arbor

- The Primary Years Programme at Mitchell (grades K-5)

- The Middle Years Programme at Scarlett and Huron (grades 6 - 10)

- The Diploma Programme at Huron (grades 11 and 12)

- The value of an internationally focused curriculum.

Mitchell Talent Show

It's show time! The Mitchell School talent show will be Friday, June 3 from 6:00-8:00 PM here at school. This is a fantastic community event. Doors will open at 6:00 PM and the show will start at 6:30. Please come see all the student performers! 

Mitchell Ice Cream Social

The annual Mitchell School PTO Ice Cream social will take place on Friday, June 10 from 6:00-8:00 here at school. This is a time for the whole school to get together as a community and celebrate! This is a family event and we hope you can all make it.

Mitchell Expansion Construction Report - 4-12-16

Time Period:   – April 30- May 13

Project Name:  Mitchell Expansion I

CONSTRUCTION

1.  All exterior walls have been erected.

2. All underground plumbing inside the building has been installed.

3. All underground electrical inside the building has been installed.

4. The concrete floor for the entire building has been completed.

5. Erection of the interior bearing wall has commenced and is ongoing.

Exciting News: 

The walls to our new addition are going up! It's an exciting time to be at Mitchell School. If you have a moment, stop by and check out the progress! Please know that safety continues to be our number one priority. Children are not allowed near the construction site. 

Early Student Pick-Up

It's important for students to stay in school until the end of the day. It is disruptive to the learning of the child and the classroom to have kids being picked up early. Of course, if a child needs to be picked up early for an appointment that is fine. Please limit early pick up to important appointments only. Thank you. 

Mitchell PTO Fun Run

The 3^rd Annual Mitchell School Fun Run will be held on May 13^th during the day here at school! Information packets have come home via backpack mail. The Fun Run is a great way to celebrate and encourage physical activity while raising money for our school. The PTO is looking for more parent volunteers to help make this a great day. Please consider volunteering! You can sign up HERE. 

Mitchell Free Food Distribution

Free food is available for Mitchell families on Saturday, May 7 beginning at 9:30 AM. 

All Mitchell families who need food are invited to this event. If you can benefit from a 

free food distribution, please come!  

Mitchell Family Movie Night - May 6!

All families are welcome to attend! Doors will open at 5:45 and the movie will begin at 6:00. Kids may ONLY attend with a parent/guardian. 

We will be showing Peanuts The Movie. 

Mitchell Expansion Construction Report - 4-29-16

Project Name:  Mitchell Expansion I

1.  The building pad has been complete for the entire new addition and connecting corridor.
2.  Exterior wall panels have been constructed on the ground to expedite erection.
3. All concrete footings/foundations have been completed.
4. The masonry perimeter block has been installed and fully grouted.
5. The exterior wall panels are nearly complete and ready for erection
